Spring Cleaning Tips to Simplify Your Life
What is the best season for cleaning? Spring, of course! We have totally caught the Spring Cleaning Bug and know that there are a lot of you out there who are in the exact same boat, but don't quite know where to start. Cleaning can sometimes just be flat out overwhelming! Our number one goal here is to help you feel more on the underwhelmed side and help you to simplify your life. Which leads us to today's post...Today we will be talking about six of our favorite cleaning tips, tricks and hacks that we think everyone should add to their list.
DECLUTTER/SIMPLIFY EACH AREA OF YOUR HOME
This is by far THE MOST IMPORTANT TIP. Simplify your home = simplify your life friends. Get rid of the CRAP. If you reduce the amount of stuff in your home by just 20% then think that is 20% less housework and 20% less "stuff" (that you don't need) that you don't have to clean and put away!
Pick a room in your home where you want to start, get out all like-items and start analyzing how much you have. Once you know how much you have we can promise you that it will be so much easier to get rid of the excess things that you don't need. Our rule of thumb: If you haven't wore it, used it, or looked at it in three months then you absolutely do not need it. This will absolutely be the most refreshing thing you do this spring, so be sure to take a picture of your work and tag us on Instagram! We will sing hallelujah right along with you and rejoice in your newfound freedom.
ALWAYS USE A DRY MICROFIBER CLOTH TO CLEAN YOUR GLASS
We are constantly getting asked how to prevent streaks and honestly the secret is to make sure that you have a completely DRY microfiber cloth. When I am cleaning my mirrors I always use this Sprayway Glass Cleaner, because it is literally THE BEST (trust me when I tell you I have tried them all and nothing even slightly compares in quality). I spray a healthy amount on the mirror then I wipe in a simple "S" formation. If I find that my mirror is starting to look streaky, I will either use a different, more dry section, of my rag or switch to a completely new fully dry rag. I promise this easy little trick will be a total game changer and prevent any streaking.
If you are looking to spot treat your mirror or are in a hurry and just trying to do a quick wipe down (like those times when guests are almost to your home and you are running out of time) I love using these Sprayway Glass Cleaner Wipes. INSIDE OF MICROWAVE
The microwave can seem daunting when you have gone months without cleaning it, but we can promise once you use the following tip you will no longer dread cleaning that microwave.
Step #1
Wipe out any crumbs with a damp paper towel or cleaning wipe.
Step #2
Fill microwave safe glass with three cups of hot water.
Step #3
Cut one lemon into chunks and place the chunks in hot water.
Step #4
Put the bowl of water/lemons in the microwave and run the microwave for five minutes.
PRO TIP: Don't open the door before the five minutes is up. The steam will dissolve any grease and grime.
Step #5
Take the glass tray out and wash it in the sink.
Step #6
Spray the inside of the microwave with vinegar and wipe clean with microfiber cloth.
VACUUM COUCH
Step #1
Take off all your cushions.
Step #2
Move/throw away any big objects.
Step #3
Grab your handheld vacuum and vacuum everywhere you possible can.

CLEAN/POLISH YOUR NATURAL STONE
In all honesty, cleaning natural stone can be really tricky! There are a lot of products on the market that be extremely harmful to granite and marble surfaces. If you're not careful about what products you are using on your natural stone surfaces then it is very easy to dull and/or stain the surface and cause long term damage. With that being said, I have really enjoyed using this Sprayway Granite & Marble Cleaner. I love that it works on counter tops, tabletops, and tile. Plus it is safe for both indoor and outdoor purposes.
